Little Oaks 2

Children generally move to Little Oaks Two from Little Oaks One as a year group when they are 3 or 4 and this means we tend to be oversubscribed. However, please do enquire as to whether we have any places for children

Little Oaks 1

Most children who attend Little Oaks Crèche move on to Little Oaks One but it’s also possible to start here without having previously been at our crèche. Here, we welcome children aged 2 and rising 3.

We hope that parents and carers will feel welcome and involved from the very beginning of their contact with Little Oaks. Once we have received a completed registration form, your child’s name will remain on our waiting list until the term prior to the date you have requested a nursery start. At this time we will make contact by email and, subject to availability, the formal offer of a place will be made. We offer a minimum of two sessions per week, in recognition that a week is a very long time when you are little.

We will invite each child, accompanied by a parent or carer, to a ‘taster’ session shortly before they are due to start, allowing them to explore the environment with their trusted adult in the background providing the security they need.

Once a child starts at crèche or nursery, we have a range of settling-in procedures which are designed to help both parents and children to feel comfortable, ensure all children benefit from what we have to offer, and make sure each child feels confident that parents will return at the end of their session. Each child responds differently to this initial separation from their main carer, and accordingly we take our cues from home and discuss each individual child’s needs with parents. We have our own settling-in advice sheet which we have onsite or can be emailed to you.

We are pleased to support local suppliers, so we receive a weekly order of milk from Wren Davis Dairies and fruit and vegetables from our village butcher, Joe Gleeson. Every morning children are offered a selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, milk or water and a breadstick or cracker. We are proud holders of the SMILE oral health award.
